About
Atopic skin is irritable, dry and itchy. This itchiness induces scratching which gets in the way of a good night’s sleep and can have a negative impact on quality of life.
Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch Spray has been specially formulated to deliver both immediate and long-lasting itch relief. It is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of itchy skin within 60 seconds with results that last for up to 12 hours.
The innovative spray contains a unique anti-itch ingredient complex that counters the itch sensation on multiple levels – from the outer layers of skin down to the nerve endings – to instantly cool, calm and soothe irritated skin:
Menthoxypropandiol (MPD) cools skin and works at a sensory level to reduce feelings of itchiness
SymSitive* calms skin, stops any stinging and reduces redness.
Polidocanol soothes skin by reducing the signals of itchiness at a cellular level.
Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch Spray is ideal for localized itching on the body caused by Atopic Dermatitis and Atopic Eczema and can be used during both flare-ups and the periods between. It’s convenient for on-the-go and can be used alongside Eucerin AtopiControl Acute Care Cream and/or your usual medication.
Fragrance-free, the cooling spray absorbs quickly and is non-greasy and non-sticky. It is suitable for adults, children from the age of three and is also effective on skin that is itchy as a result of Xerosis, Psoriasis and Diabetes.

Licochalcone A is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing ingredient. It is derived from the root of the Chinese Licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza Inflata) which uses natural compounds to protect its cells from excessive sunlight. When used in skincare products, Licochalcone A works to reduce inflammation and neutralize free radicals that negatively influence skin cells and accelerate the aging process. It helps to protect the deeper epidermal skin layers from sun-induced effects.
An innovation developed by Beiersdorf Skin Research, Menthoxypropanediol is a derivative of menthol. It cools skin and works at a sensory level to reduce feelings of itchiness. When skin no longer feels itchy, there is no need to scratch it and so further damage to the skin barrier is avoided.
Which should I use during a flare-up: Eucerin Anti-Itch-Spray or Eucerin Acute Care Cream?
Both products have been specially formulated for use on itchy, atopic skin and include active ingredients proven to calm skin. They complement each other and can be used together or individually as well as alongside any medical treatment you may be taking.
The spray instantly cools skin and offers immediate and long-term itch relief. It can be used both during flare-ups of Atopic Dermatitis and in the periods between. It’s easy to spray onto your body and you don’t have to apply it with your fingers. It’s suitable for adults and children older than three, and can also be used to relieve itching caused by Psoriasis, Xerosis or Diabetes.
The cream offers intensive care for atopic skin during a flare-up. As well as relieving itching the formula moisturizes skin and strengthens and repairs its natural barrier. The cream can be applied liberally to whichever part of your body is experiencing a flare-up (including your face) and can be used on babies (from four weeks) and children as well as by adults.
Can I use Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch-Spray instead of my usual medication?

Is Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch-Spray suitable for use on children?
If you are looking for an acute product suitable for babies (from four weeks) we recommend Eucerin AtopiControl Acute Care Cream.
What do you mean by a ‘flare-up’ and ‘the period between flare-ups’?
Broadly speaking, Atopic Dermatitis has two different phases. A ‘flare-up’ is one of the names used to describe the acute, active phase when skin is at its most irritable. It can feel intensely itchy, you may experience a burning sensation and skin can look red, dry and flaky. Between these acute, flare-up phases are periods of time when your skin is relatively calm and less irritated. This period is also known as the non-acute, non-active or interval phase. The length of each phase varies greatly depending on the individual, but products specially formulated to care for atopic skin − such as those in the Eucerin AtopiControl range − can help to extend the period between flare-ups and offer relief during acute flare-ups.
Is Atopic Dermatitis the same as Atopic Eczema?
Atopic Dermatitis and Atopic Eczema are collective terms for inflammatory changes to the skin and they include many different dermatological diseases. Atopic Dermatitis and Atopic Eczema are used to describe the same chronic inflammatory condition.
